The consultation
We walk the property with you in any month of the year, look at grades, drainage, sun, and soil, and listen to how you actually use the space.

Award-winning landscape design, installation, planting, and hardscaping across the Greater Lansing area. Fifty-plus years, over a thousand projects, and a 1-year labor and material warranty on every one.
Since 1972Over a thousand landscape projects across mid-Michigan — residential front yards through million-dollar commercial sites.
Quality Landscape, Inc. has been a locally owned landscape company in the Greater Lansing area since 1972. Over that time we have completed more than a thousand projects across mid-Michigan — and the know-how that comes out of five decades is the thing that actually saves our customers money.
It is knowing which plant will still be alive in ten years in mid-Michigan clay. It is knowing how deep the base has to go so a patio survives the freeze-thaw. It is showing up when we said we would, and finishing one project before starting another. Those are not slogans here, they are the reasons people call us back.
We offer discounts to military members, veterans, senior citizens, and first responders — and we consult every month of the year, not just in April.

Unilock paver systems14 services across four disciplines. One company draws the plan, installs it, and comes back to look after it.
Measured, drawn, and talked through before anything is installed. Consultations run all twelve months of the year.
Measured drawings and a planting plan built around your house, your soil, and how you actually use the yard — not a catalogue layout.
January to DecemberWe sit down with homeowners in every month of the year — including the ones when nothing is growing and the schedule is still wide open.
Trees, shrubs, perennials, lawns, and beds — installed by people whose expertise is horticulture, not just labour.
The full build — beds, plantings, grading, sod, mulch, and hardscape — installed by our own crew, one project at a time.
Horticultural standardsThe right species, in the right place, planted at the right depth — the three things that decide whether a tree is alive in ten years.
Seeding · sodding · topsoilRebuilding lawns that construction, drainage, or shade wore out — topsoil, grade, and then seed or sod depending on the site.
Bed creation · edgingNew beds cut, edged, and mulched — the lines that make a front yard read as designed instead of accumulated.
Four-season interestPerennial and ornamental grass borders composed so something is doing the work in every month, not just in June.
Patios, walks, walls, and fire features built on the base and drainage that a Michigan freeze-thaw cycle demands.
Patios, walks, and driveways built on a proper compacted base — the part nobody sees and the only part that decides whether it stays flat.
Engineered · drainedSegmental and natural stone walls built with the drainage and reinforcement the soil load actually requires.
Seat walls · pergolasFire pits, seat walls, pergolas, and the patio that ties them together into a room you will actually use.
Drainage · contouringRegrading, contouring, and drainage correction — moving water away from a house before it becomes the expensive kind of problem.
Seasonal clean-ups, ongoing maintenance, and snow removal, so one company carries the property all year.
The two visits that decide how a landscape looks the rest of the year — bed cut-back, leaf clearing, and mulch refresh.
One crew · all seasonOngoing care for properties that want one company responsible for the whole exterior instead of four different trucks.
Residential · commercialWinter clearing for driveways, lots, and walks — the other half of a year-round property agreement.
We walk the property with you in any month of the year, look at grades, drainage, sun, and soil, and listen to how you actually use the space.
Scaled drawings and a planting plan, worked through with you and revised until it is right. Then a proposal, when we promised it.
Our own crew, on your project, until your project is finished. We do not run four jobs at once and we do not disappear for a week.
A 1-year labor and material warranty, and a company that has been at the same address since 1972 to honour it.

Fifty years in one region means our work is not only in back yards. We have installed landscapes for Michigan State University and Central Michigan University, Flint Bishop Airport, Potter Park Zoo, the Lansing Veterans Memorial, the Delta Township Streetscape, and the 1.2-mile East Lansing trail system.
If you have walked mid-Michigan, you have probably walked through something we built.

Three of our own job-site photographs. Every failed paver surface in Michigan failed underneath, in the two steps nobody photographs.

Down to depth, then aggregate base compacted in lifts. Skip a lift and the freeze-thaw finds it.

A screeded bedding course, then units set by hand to the pattern and cut to the bed lines.

Edge restraint, joint sand, compaction — then the beds go in around it and it looks like it grew there.
Three reviews the client published themselves, quoted as written. We have not aggregated them into a star rating we cannot verify.
“It’s rare to be this satisfied with a contractor’s work and we’ve dealt with dozens, from OK to terrible. Never have we encountered such a professional, dedicated, precise and honest firm. Our property and lawns were decimated due to construction — over 18,000 square feet of topsoil, sod and mulch went back in, and the new retaining wall is a work of art. Everything they promised, from job visits, proposal, work, and timing were accomplished.”
“Everyone was great. They completely re-landscaped my yard. All the guys were professional and nice. They did a wonderful job rescuing some of the plants I had while adding to it to create a new look. I couldn’t be happier.”
“Very pleased with the work the team at Quality Landscape has done on our yard. They’re hard-working, respectful, and get the job done right. Highly recommend them for any of your landscaping jobs.”

Mid-Michigan sits in USDA zone 6a. The last frost usually lands in the first half of May and the first one arrives in early October, which is what actually sets this schedule.
The thaw shows what winter did. Beds get cut back and re-mulched, and installation season opens as soon as the ground allows.
Peak build window. Hardscape, walls, and full installations run now, plus maintenance on everything already in the ground.
The best planting window of the year. Cool air, warm soil, and roots that establish before the ground freezes.
Snow removal, and the quietest and best time to design. A winter consultation puts you at the front of the spring schedule.
When we say a salesman will be at your home this week, he is. When we say a proposal comes Friday, it comes Friday. It sounds like a low bar. Ask anyone who has hired a contractor.
We complete our projects one at a time, with no delays. Your job is not a place we park a crew for three days between other people’s jobs.
We are members of the Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association because plants are the trade, not just the material. Right species, right place, right depth.

Any month. We hold consultations year-round, which is genuinely unusual in this trade — most Lansing-area companies only want to talk in April. A winter consultation gets your design finished, your price fixed, and your spot on the spring calendar before the rush starts.
Yes — we offer discounts to military members, veterans, senior citizens, and first responders. Mention it when you call and we will apply it to your estimate.
Yes, residential and commercial. It lets a property stay with one contractor for all twelve months instead of handing the keys to somebody new every November. Winter routes are set in the fall, so call early.
